Care Instructions

Cotton, Linen, Hemp, and Fustians combining these fibers:

All of these fabrics are pre-washed before being cut to minimize shrinkage. Machine wash on a cold gentle cycle then hang dry. The pieces can go into the dryer, but the life of the garment will be extended by hanging to dry. Steam or iron on the cotton/linen setting to remove wrinkles.

Exceptions: If the cotton or linen garment has silk or wool incorporated in the garment then treat the piece using the instructions below. The item description in the shop will note any unique care instructions.

Silk, Wool, Velvet, Sateen, and Fustians including these fibers:

Some of our wools, especially ones for cloaks, are washed before being used to further thicken the fiber for warmth. ALL wool and silk garments should be dry cleaned to protect the integrity of the garment.

Shapewear, mitts, stays, market bonnets, and stocks should all be
spot-cleaned or hand-washed as needed, then laid flat and left to air dry.
